The Heart of Chrissy L 

My love of fashion started way before Chrissy L ever existed.

It really started with my mum.

From as young as I can remember, she loved fashion and she loved to
shop. Going into the city with her felt like the most exciting thing in the
world. Merivale, Mr John… I can still remember that feeling of walking in and
being completely mesmerised by it all.

It was glamorous. It was fabulous. And it was the 70s, so nothing was
exactly subtle.

Fur, gold, jewellery, incredible clothes, big hair, beautiful women… I
loved ALL of it.

And clearly, not much has changed.

That whole era has stayed with me my entire life. Studio 54, 70s
glamour, European summers, Rachel Zoe and that incredible luxe bohemian way of
throwing things together that somehow just works. A fabulous piece of
jewellery, a fur, denim, something vintage, lots of gold… that’s always been my
world.

I started Chrissy L in 2003 because I wanted to create jewellery that
made you feel something when you put it on.

Then in 2016, I hung up my heels.

I needed some time away from the business to focus on my family, my
daughter and, if I’m being completely truthful, myself. Sometimes you just know
when you need to stop for a while.

So I did.

But I never stopped loving jewellery. I never stopped noticing what
women were wearing, what was missing, or mentally redesigning things in my
head.

And then, all these years later, my daughter and I kept having the same
conversation…

Where is all the fabulous jewellery?

Everything we were seeing felt so delicate and minimal, and that just
wasn’t us.

We wanted big earrings. Layers. Turquoise. Gold. Tassels. Texture.
Jewellery that could take a white shirt and jeans and make the whole outfit.

That slightly over-the-top, luxe, 70s, bohemian, European-summer kind of
fabulous.

We couldn’t find it.

So we thought… maybe it’s time to bring Chrissy L back.

My daughter is now 18, and there was something really beautiful about
relaunching the brand with her. I grew up discovering fashion beside my mum,
and now here I was doing the same thing with my own daughter.

That part still gets me.

We saw a little gap in the market, trusted our gut and went for it.

And the response since we relaunched has honestly been mind-blowing.

The messages, the sell-outs, the women who come back again and again,
the incredible support… we’re so grateful for every bit of it.

I think women were craving what we were craving.

Something fun.

Something glamorous.

Something with personality.

Jewellery you notice.

Chrissy L isn't about saving your jewellery for a special occasion. Wear
the big earrings to lunch. Layer the necklaces over a T-shirt. Throw on too
much gold. Mix turquoise with everything.

Fashion should make you feel good.

And I still believe there’s nothing quite like a fabulous piece of
jewellery to do exactly that.

Chrissy L is a little bit 70s, a little bit Studio 54, a little bit
European summer, and a whole lot of fabulous.

And this time around?

I’m definitely not hanging up my heels anytime soon.
